Conversion

What it is

A conversion is any action a visitor takes on your website that you've defined as valuable — a form submission, a phone call, a purchase, a booking, a download, or even just reaching a specific page. Conversions are how you measure whether your website is doing its job.

Why it matters

Traffic without conversions is just a number. The whole point of your website, your ads, and your content is to move people toward a desired action. Tracking conversions tells you which traffic sources, pages, and campaigns are actually generating business — and which ones are just generating visits.

The mistake most people make

Only tracking one conversion type and missing the full picture. If you only track form submissions but not phone calls, you might think a campaign is failing when it's actually driving a ton of inbound calls. Track every meaningful action visitors can take — then you'll know what's actually working.
