Email Sequence (Drip Campaign)

What it is

An email sequence — also called a drip campaign — is a pre-written series of emails sent automatically over time, triggered by a specific action or date. Someone downloads your guide, they get a welcome email. Three days later, they get a follow-up. A week later, a case study. The sequence runs without you touching it, moving people through a deliberate journey from curious to ready-to-buy.

Why it matters

Most people who show interest in your business aren't ready to buy today. An email sequence keeps you in front of them at the right pace without requiring you to manually follow up with every lead. It's one of the highest-leverage things a small business can build.

The mistake most people make

Writing sequences that are all pitch and no value. If every email is asking for something — a call, a purchase, a click — people tune out fast. The best sequences lead with helpfulness and earn the ask over time. Patience converts better than pressure.
