User Interface (UI)

What it is

User interface is the visual layer of your website — the buttons, menus, forms, icons, colors, and typography that people actually see and interact with. If UX is the experience of driving, UI is the car's dashboard.

Why it matters

UI is the first thing people judge. Before they read your headline or click anything, they've already formed an opinion based on what your site looks like. A polished UI signals credibility. A dated or cluttered one signals "maybe don't give these people your money."

The mistake most people make

Thinking UI and UX are the same thing or that one is more important than the other. Great UI with bad UX means it looks good but doesn't work. Great UX with bad UI means it works but nobody trusts it. You need both. They're partners, not substitutes.
