Logomark

What it is

A logomark is the icon or symbol part of your logo — no text, just the graphic. Apple's apple. Nike's swoosh. Target's bullseye.

Why it matters

A strong logomark gives you flexibility. It works as a social media avatar, a favicon, an app icon, or embroidered on a hat.

The mistake most people make

Creating a logomark before their brand is recognizable enough to use one. If you're not Nike, you probably still need your name with the mark.
