Wordmark

What it is

A wordmark is a logo made entirely of text — your business name styled in a specific typeface, often custom-designed. Think Google, Coca-Cola, or FedEx. No icon, just letters.

Why it matters

Wordmarks are instantly readable. For newer brands without universal recognition, a wordmark makes sure your name is front and center every time.

The mistake most people make

Using a generic font and calling it a wordmark. A real wordmark has intentional typographic choices that make it ownable. Typing your name in Helvetica is not a wordmark.
