User-Generated Content (UGC)

What it is

User-generated content is any content — photos, videos, reviews, posts, testimonials — created by your customers rather than by you. It's your clients posting a photo of your work on their Instagram, leaving a detailed Google review, or tagging you in a before-and-after on Facebook.

Why it matters

UGC is word-of-mouth at scale. It's more trusted than anything you create because it comes from people with no financial incentive to be kind. It's also essentially free marketing. A single customer photo that goes even modestly viral can outperform a paid campaign that cost thousands.

The mistake most people make

Not encouraging it or making it easy. Most customers won't post about your business unless you give them a reason to or make the process effortless. Create moments worth sharing — remarkable packaging, a dramatic result, a genuine experience — and then ask. People are more willing than you think.

Knowing what User-Generated Content (UGC) means is useful. Having someone implement it correctly for your business is better. Let's have a real conversation — no pitch, no menu.
